Welding Inspection Processes and Workflows in Construction

Abstract
Much capital investment has been made in Iranian steel industry and constructional steels are widely
utilized in construction industry. Although acceptable materials and design of steel structures are
implemented in constructional welding industry, we are faced with unreliable viewpoint of professional
engineers due to loss of technical approach in forgoing industry. Relative human and financial damages
in recent earthquakes are evidence of this claim. On the other hand, international experiences indicate
that desirable condition will be accessible, if quality control and quality assurance programs have been
performed. Consequently, we will be able to design and fabricate buildings with high bearing capacities
having good resistance to earthquake and wind loads. This paper presents some welding inspection
processes of Iranian constructional welding plan that has been studied in Iranian building and housing
research center.
