36

Export Switchgear
Export Switchgear will compress all WSOS5 files that belong to the chosen switchgear and either save to disk or send to some one via the Email facility. Saving to a removeable disk enables the files to be transferred to another PC and imported to WSOS5. Export function is also a good way to backup your switchgear data for later use. The Export Switchgear function is not available if WSOS5 is on-line.

Import and Export Switchgear Files Summary

WSOS5 has an Import and Export facility which enables switchgear files to be transferred from one PC to another. Exporting a switchgear file is the best way of sending details of a switchgear which is experiencing a problem to someone for analysis.
- Event log and history files should be included.

Switchgear files received for analysis are automatically upzipped and saved in the Working Directory nominated.
- They can then be opened as a switchgear file in WSOS5.

Compressed WSOS4 file

Once a WSOS4 file has been upgraded to WSOS5 in this way it can no longer be opened by WSOS4. As part of the upgrade process the original WSOS4 file is compressed (WinZip) and appended to the upgraded folder. The WSOS4 files could be extracted from this .zip file for use with WSOS4 at a later date if required.

The folder containing the upgraded file can be moved to a Working Directory if required to be opened automatically by WSOS5 on Start Up.

53

Summary
Only WSOS4 files from controllers running Version 28 software on CAPM4 or 5 hardware can be upgraded to WSOS5. Files to be upgraded are selected by either selecting File -> Open or clicking on the Open Switchgear icon and browsing to its location. After a WSOS4 has been upgraded to WSOS5 it is no longer available to be opened in WSOS4. The upgraded file still resides in the same folder as its predecessor but can be moved if required.
