I have had the great opportunity to get to know him and have hirn as a stuclent in rny Algebra 2 class last year. and he is currently in my Math Analysis Honors. AP Economics. and Advisory classes. Through these my classes, I have had the absolute privilege to work with Kenny irr a variety of settings to see how well rounded he really is. In mathematics, Kenny shows great problem solving and critical thinking skills, and he has an undeniable work ethic that shows every teacher that he has had. how serious Kenny is about his academics. Senior Class President. and this year he has met, if not exceeded, everyone's expectations for him as Senior Class president. He has coordinated and led senior meetirrgs every single week to make sure that the senior class is up to date rvith all olthe colleqe and graduation deadlines and information. Kennv has also led many tundraising et'fbrts tbr the senior class by personally contacting local businesses. and this class has goals to furrdraise more molteY than any'ASGt. class has ever fundraised before. Furthermore, Kenny came into school before the school year even started to nleet with me and plarr out ideas that he could facilitate with the senior class. I am overjoyed that this senior class has Kenny as

their President, as I know that they are in good hands.

Kenny's academic performance has been incredibly consistent, and Kenny has excelled especially when the class has been given group activities. Kenny is very charismatic, and he has outstanding collaborative and communication skills that make him a great team player and an integral part of any group. This is one of the multiple reasons why I believe Kenny will continue to improve and refine his leadership skills in the future. Kenny gets along with students and teachers through his charismatic demeanor, and tpreviously referred to. and he always comes to school with a positive attitude. He is very easy to get along with, because he always has an open mind and is willing to take a risk to try ncw things. ln fact, I have spoken to a number ofother teachers about Kenny, and there has never once been a negative comment made about him. Hels one of the most respected and highly regarded students at our entire school. Kenny shows a multitude of passions and excels in many different areas, both inside and outside of the classroom. His ability to improve in a rigorous environment shows that he will be able to do the same in an intellectually stimulating acadernic setting. I have known Kenny or two academic years in my capacity as his teacher for Enhancing Literature and Ap Language. Each year Kenny has been an assettothe classroom discourse. He is an eager learner and always seems to delight in class discussions and activities. When he is in groups, I can always count on him to be the leader and kindly hold others accountable for their doing their part. ln addition to being an outstanding student, Kenny is an avid guitar player and active

memberofthestudentbody. Hedoesn'tholdanypositionsofleadership,butheissomeone his peers know they can count on to lend a helping hand. He is friendly and gets along with everyone he encounters. Kenny uses the guitar as an outlet for stress and to express himself
creatively. I admire that he is learning guitar because many kids in this community don't take the time to cultivate hobbies and outside interests. This is partially circumstantial as this is quite an impoverished community, but it is also a choice' One other choice I have seen Kenny make is to pursue any and all academic enrichment opportunities available to him. Kenny is on grade level in terms of reading and writing but last year when he had the chance to attend test prep classes forthe California High School Exit Examination and the California Standards Test, he was up bright and early each Saturday for two months attending the four hour seminars. He has also taken the opportunity to attend SAT practice examinations. lsay allof thisto say Kenny is invested in his future. His mother finished third grade and his father seventh grade. He will be the first in his family to graduate high school making college an even bigger accomplishment. As such, he is committed to any and all opportunities that will aid in getting him there' I am excited to support Kenny in getting to college because I know how much it will mean to him and I am certain he will make good on any support offered to him.
