Dear Students, Hello! My name is Miss Hawkins and I will be student teaching in your English/Language Arts class this semester. I am originally from a suburb of Chicago called Westchester, but I am currently a student at the University of Illinois working toward my teaching certification and a degree in English and Secondary Education. I am very excited to begin my student teaching process at Urbana Middle School and am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with all of you. While I have many ideas to share with all of you, I am ready to learn from each of you and Mrs. Jackson, as well. All I ask of you is that you show respect to myself and your classmates, work hard, and have a positive attitude! With your help, I know this experience will be beneficial for both of us. I am ready to get to know each of you and to share my enthusiasm for teaching. Please be encouraged to give me feedback as the semester progresses. Thank you in advance for your effort!
