This will be done in the guided practice section of this lesson. Blooms: This lesson asks the students to perform at the Knowledge level of Blooms Taxonomy. Procedures: 1. Focus and Review: Get your students interested in what you are about to teach them, link to prior knowledge. Do not ask them how they are or what they did this weekend, etc. This MUST relate to what you will be teaching them. Read a book to the class that focuses on how people use money in the economy. After reading the book, we will discuss the different ways money is used in our economy and make a list. Ask students what they think a good and service is. Brainstorm ideas of goods and services. 2. Statement of Objective: Tell them what they are going to learn, what you are going to teach them. Do not begin teaching here. Today we will be talking about ways in which people earn and use money, learning what the difference is between a good and a service, and building a Tchart of goods and services.

3. Teacher Input: Teach to the objective. Teach them content. Ask questions to check for understanding. TI should include description of teacher actions, instructional techniquesmodeling, demonstrations, directions, monitoring and adjusting for understanding, adapting instruction for individual learning needs, and questioning. TI should also include a description of what the children are expected to do. Script exactly what you plan to say and do. Include expected student responses. You should be teaching them what your objective says you want them to learn and what you attempted to interest them in in the focus and review and you should be doing here what you told them they were going to learn about. This should prepare them for what they will do in guided and independent practice. Begin by reading a book to the class on how money is used in our economy. Ask students to name some ways they saw money being used in the book, continue to ask ways in which people can earn money. After a small discussion of various ways people can earn money start discussing different things money can buy. First, ask the students to name things that are bought in their household, after making a list of items, ask students to raise their hand if they can define what a good and service is. Allow students to state what they believe the definition of each of these terms are. Write the real definition to both of these terms on the board. Then, ask students if they can think of some goods and services in the classroom. Make a T-chart of the goods and services on the board. Explain to the students what their next activity will be. Tell them that they will go to the table filled with magazines and advertisements; they will then cut out examples of goods and services and make their own T-chart. Tell students that when they are done they will flip over their paper and cut out pictures of how money can be used and how people can earn money. Tell students that when they are done, they will come up to the teacher and explain their T-chart and list of ways money can be earned and used. When they are done reviewing with the teacher, they will be given classroom money for a further lesson. Tell students to hold on to their money if they want to use it later on in the week.

4. Guided Practice: Student practice of new skill with help of teacher and/or peers. Here, the students should practice with your help or their peers help what you will ask them to do independently next. Tell the students they will be working with their tables on the next activity. Have students share with one another how they would like to make money when they grow up and what is one thing they would like to buy with that money. Have one table at a time come sit on the rug with the teacher. Lay out pictures of goods and services. Ask student individually to pick a picture of a good, then repeat and ask students to pick a picture of a service. Do this activity multiple times with the different groups of tables. Have each table come up with a skit of how someone could earn money. Have them role play the scenarios for the other students.

5. Independent Practice: Given after you have seen the child perform the behavior at about 80-85% accuracy in the guided practice. Allows the child to practice the new skill independently in a different context, situation, or activity. This activity should match your lesson objective and your assessment strategy. When all students are done presenting their scenarios, they will go back to their desk and will be given three questions. They will define a good, a service, and then will give an example of how someone in our community could earn money and what would be a good or service they could buy with that money. After all students are done Teacher will call students up to write the answers on the board. Teacher will collect papers at the end to see what areas students are still struggling in.

6. Closure: Summarize the information the student have just learned and check for student understanding by asking questions. Do not simply ask them if they had fun or tell them youll forward to seeing them again. You need to wrap up your lesson. Ask the students to explain what we have learned in the past lesson. Students will state that they have learned how people earn money, how they use money, and they will know what a good and service is. Have students think to themselves what the most creative good or service they could buy. When a student has come up with an idea have them get in line and whisper to the teacher their secret good and service, students will receive classroom money again for a further lesson later in the week. Lesson Plan Reflection (to be completed after you teach and should be included in your portfolio) 1. Student Performance: How did the students react to the lesson? Did they learn the material? How do you know? Students should react well to the lesson because it is applicable for visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners. They will learn the material that is stated in the common core standard. I will know they have learned the material by assessing them during different activities throughout the day. 2. Teacher performance: Reflect on how well you delivered instruction. What went well and what did not? Why? What would you change? What would you keep the same? Which parts of the lesson were confusing and/or not helpful for the students?
