Professional Goals:
I hope to teach the subjects I love and be a positive influence on young people. I would love to teach in an interdisciplinary classroom at the secondary level.

Teaching Certifications:
I have an RX certification. I can teach social studies, history, geography, economics, and civics. I am able to teach mathematics at the secondary level.

2012-2013 school year East Jackson Secondary Schools 4-5 days/week

Taught 9th and 10th grade social studies (US History and World History) o 10 weeks guided lead-teaching for minimum 4 classes o Built curriculum for co-taught World History class o Responsible for assignments and grading in Powerschool o Shared lesson planning and other responsibilities for US History o Worked with two different team teachers to accommodate students with special needs Observed and assisted math classes (Algebra II and Geometry)

Pre-Internship Field Experience:


Fall 2011-spring 2012 hours/week New Covenant Christian, Lansing, MI 4

Planned, taught, and reflected upon lessons for a combined 7th and 8th grade class in social studies. Sought and received input from mentor teacher and other teachers on learning styles, classroom management, and teaching philosophies. Spring 2011 hours/week

Observed and tutored in a 6th grade social studies class, and a 6th grade life skills class. Worked with small groups or individuals to complete homework, tests, or assignments. Holt Alternative High School, Holt, MI 1 hours/week
