RESEARCH PROJECT PROPOSAL-SOUTH VALLEY SANCTUARY

OVERVIEW I propose that we create informational brochures or flyers to inform members of broken households and abusive families of the options South Valley Sanctuary (SVS) has available to them. South Valley Sanctuary is a domestic violence shelter, offering a place for individuals in abusive environments to go and escape their situation. The idea of this project is to inform members in those households that they have somewhere to go in time of need, and resources available to contact for help. These brochures can be distributed in places such as libraries and community recreation centers, where they will be available to the public. RATIONALE This project will benefit both BUS 2200 students as well as those individuals seeking help in domestic violence situations. South Valley Sanctuary and our community will benefit from the spread of knowledge our project will provide, and the benefit to us as students is the opportunity to:

develop interview and group communication skills as we work with South Valley Sanctuary to complete the project. practice at creating business documents in a group environment. collaborate a group to complete the project with a strict timeline. provide a needed service to members of our community.

METHODOLOGIES In order to complete this project we will be using the resources available to conduct research and complete a document. We will use the BWH handbook, the SVS website, and interviews with a representative from the center. The research and information we gather will be used to complete a document for the SVS center. TIMEFRAME Like most business projects, we have a set timeline. During this time, we will have to make contact with SVS, find out their specific needs, and do research, as well completing the final project. In order to guarantee our success, Ive broken down the project tasks over the weeks we have been given for the assignment.
