Failure Rate Data Transfer

The CCPS Taxonomy developed for this Guidelines and the plant data collection and conversion procedures discussed in Chapter 6 are a step toward the generation of a greater amount and more consistent failure rate data. By using accepted standard definitions and procedures for data collection and conversion, plant-specific failure rate data can be added to and combined with the generic data in this book or with other types of failure rate data discussed in the CPQRA Guidelines. If these additional failure rate data are made available to CCPS, its taxonomy can be amended and upgraded where needed, and the quality of the data in its Generic Failure Rate Data Base will improve for all CPI users. To facilitate the transfer of high quality, plant-specific failure rate data, a Failure Rate Data Transfer Form, Figure 7.1, has been provided. This form can be used to standardize the transfer of failure rate data to CCPS or to others in the CPI.
