Date: 9 May 2012 (Wednesday) Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes Section A: Critical Literacy [20 marks] - Inferential and Vocabulary - Interpretation and Literary [Do note that Factual and Comprehension is taken out of Year 2 syllabus] Instructions - Leave 1 line between each part of a question and 3 lines between each question. - Answer in complete sentences. - Ensure that you quote evidence from the extract to justify your points, wherever necessary. - Do not spend more than 40 minutes on this section.

Section B: Guided Literary Analysis [20 marks] - Both questions must be addressed Instructions - Read the two questions given and annotate the poem before you start writing - Have a proper introduction, body and conclusion for each part. - Ensure that you weave your evidence into your answer. - For (b) you must include effects of the poetic devices and these must be fully developed
