General Comments: Good performance in general with 56% of candidates obtaining grade A.

Comments on individual questions:

Question 1: Confusion on PC- Many candidates wrote Portable Computer instead of Personal Computer. URL also was incorrectly stated.

Question 2: Data, Process and Information were correct for the majority but some incorrectly wrote the 4 th component which was storage.

Question 3: Well answered

Question 4: Candidates wrote that software can be seen and lost mark.

Question 5: Confusion between input and output devices were seen in some scripts

Question 6: Well answered

Question 7: Many candidates wrote the units of storage in descending order.

Question 8: Not answered properly- irrelevant or vague answers.

Question 9: Not answered properly- Most students gave the features found in word processors instead of writing that word processors can be used for typing/creating memos, letters, mail merge, newsletters..etc. Question 10: Some candidates did not explain header and footer and simply drew a diagram or vice-versa and lost 2 marks consequently.

Question 11: Well answered except for part (d) on writing of a complete URL. For part on the meaning of domain extension .biz many candidates did not write the word business properly.
