Browser Pattern 1

Saving and opening files and closing FL Studio


Close FL Studio window

View is useful if the Browser containing all the sound samples is closed. The Playlist is also accessible from here. From File as well as saving an FL Studio file it is also possible to Export the file as a .wav or .mp3 file to play in media player.

Useful menu Options


Pat mode is used to create and listen to individual Patterns when creating a Song Song mode is used to sequence and play Patterns together in the Playlist Opening the Playlist Selecting a Pattern number Play, Stop and Pause Patterns and Songs

From the Browser window in Packs > Extra samples > Drum and Bass Loop select dnb10 to listen to and create Pattern 1 whilst in Pattern mode.

Entering Pattern 1 into the Playlist and using Song mode


Open the Playlist select Pattern 1 and click in 10 blocks. Swap to Song mode and play the Song.

Creating a Pattern 2
Select Pattern number 2. From the Browser select Packs > Extra samples > Strings n Pads > Looped > histringshi_L and drag it in under the drum channels. Click right mouse button to fill every 2 or 4 or 8 steps or select Piano Roll. The Piano Roll allows pitch and velocity to be altered for each sound/note in the Pattern.

This new Pattern 2 can now be entered into the Playlist. Click in every other block (underneath Pattern 1). In Song mode this Pattern 2 will play alongside Pattern 1. It is possible to create and play many Patterns together in the Song.

Creating a Melody as Pattern 3


For example by selecting from Packs > Extra samples > Used by tunes > Ambi1, the Piano Roll option allows a melody to be composed. This melody can be as long or short as needed and notes within it can be as long or as short as necessary.

3 Patterns have been created and sequenced to create a Song. Play the Song.
