Important Details About Me! College admission counselors look at applicants as potential community members. This information is for your counselor to help him/her write a powerful recommendation. This will give the colleges information about you that supplements your transcript and SAT/ACT scores. Please think about your answers and complete with specific information, examples and detail to support your comments. This is the MOST IMPORTANT thing you can do to help your counselor write a wonderful recommendation that will positively impact your candidacy. This form must be TYPED and submitted to your counselor by the first week in June.

What kind of a learner are you? How is this demonstrated in class and out of class? What are your strong points as a person? As a learner? What quote, work of art, or book has inspired you? Please explain. Tell us a story, from the past or present that speaks to who you are today. Are your grades and course selection a good reflection of your abilities? If not, why? Have there been courses you wanted to take but could not due to scheduling conflicts or other reasons? Give a detailed description of your most important extracurricular activities and explain the significance of them in your life. Or, explain why you have not been able or chosen to participate in extracurricular activities. What is a typical day like for you once you leave school? (Jobs, responsibilities, etc.) Is there any information you feel is important for your counselor to include in his/her letter of recommendation? Describe any special recognition or awards you have received for a talent or skill. Briefly describe how you spent the last three summers (travel/work/camp/other). Have there been any personal obstacles that you have had to overcome or that may have impacted your grades?
