October 15, 2011 To Whom It May Concern: I am writing this letter at the request and on behalf of Mrs.

Kari Sparks. It is with great honor and support for Mrs. Sparks that I submit this recommendation for your consideration. I have only known Kari for one year. She was a member of our Educational Technology course at Metropolitan State University of Denver (EDT 3610). Although this is a brief time period of acquaintance, it was ample opportunity for me to assess Karis skills, motivation, and passion for teaching. Academically, she was an excellent student, finishing in the top five percent of our class. This is an outstanding accomplishment as the course requires a tremendous amount of creativity and diligence to complete highly professional teaching and learning productsand I accept only the highest quality in work. In order to understand effective curriculum design, teaching strategies and learning activities, teacher candidates must be willing to dive deeply into often-intimidating unknown investigations of both the content and themselves, and do so in a manner that results in a change in both teaching and learning in a classroom. Kari took this challenge to heart and worked with diligence to accomplish what many veteran teachers are often able to do. She gave undivided attention to the instruction, ensuring her own understanding, then devoted the necessary time and effort to produce thoughtful, effective products. Kari has a high caliber tenacity, patience, and dependability. The skills a successful teacher will need in the classroom are many and diverse and only occasionally are they acquired in a college classroom. But it is there that the attributes of future teachers begin to emerge: a passion for the profession, an eagerness to begin a lifelong commitment to students, the perseverance to overcome daily obstacles and frustrations, the excitement to work with others, and the knowledge to ask for assistancethese are all traits I observed in Kari. It is without reservation that I highly recommend Kari for further education to any school. Mrs. Sparks will be a tremendous benefit to your program and I am eager to learn of her future successes. Should you have any questions or need further information, do not hesitate to contact me. Respectfully,

Dr. C. L. Stocker
