AIM: To simulate 1200 conduction mode for inverter using PSIM. Theory: For the 120 degree mode VSI, each thyristor conducts for 1200 of a cycle. Like 1800 mode, 1200 mode inverter also requires six steps, each of 600 duration, for completing one cycle of the output ac voltage. The figure shows that T1 conducts for 1200 and for the next 600 , neither T1 nor T4 conducts. Now T4 is turned on at t=1800 and it further conducts for 1200, i.e. from t=1800 to t=3000. This means that for 600 interval from t=1200 to t=1800, series connected SCRs T1, T4 do not conduct. At t=3000, T4 is turned off, then 600 interval elapses before T1 turned on again at t=3600. Now T3 is turned on at t=1200 as an 1800 mode inverter. Now T3 conducts for 1200, then 600 interval elapses during which neither T3 nor T6 conducts. At t=3000 , T6 is turned on, it conducts for 1200 then 600 interval elapses after which T3 is turned on again. Simulation:

Conclusion: From the above experiment we can get the waveforms of voltages Va, Vb and Vc which indicates 1200 conduction of three phase inverter.
