CELL DIVISION: Cell division involves three stages which are interphase, mitosis and cytokinesis.

In interphase involves G1, G2, and synthesis phase. During G1 phase the size of the cell increases as organelles replicates during synthesis phase the DNA replicates and the size of DNA doubles thus the nucleus enlarges. During G2 phase the mitochondria and chloroplast in plant cell rpliactes and a lot of energy Is being stored in this stage. Mitosis involves 4 stages. Prophase: during prophase the DNA condenses to form chromosomes, nuclear membrane disappears and can be seen under a light microscope. The centrioles moves to opposite poles of the cell and spindle fibers starts to form. Metaphase: during metaphase the centromere of the chromosomes are attached to the spindle fibers and are held at the equatorial plate of the cell. Anaphase: during anaphase the spindle fibers shortens and the centrosomes move more far apart as a result the centromere separating by dividing the sister chromatids. Telophase: during telophase the sister chromatids are held in opposite poles of the cell. And the chromatids uncoil and so the nuclear membrane reappears.

Cytokinesis: during cytokinesis the cell contents and the cytoplasm are divided and form a new cell membrane forming two daughter cells.
