Mahendra Rajmarga (Mahendra Highway) also known as the East West Highway.

Synonym to name the Mahendra Rajmarga is the longest highway that runs 1,000 kilometres (620 miles) across the Terai region from Kakarvitta in the east to Bhim Datta in the west. Mahendra Highway also connects the easteren and the western Nepal to Kathmandu, the epicentre of Nepal. Mostly single lane in each direction it scarcely qualifies as a highway as per western understanding. Interestingly the Mahendra Highway is the focal point for all road blockades caused by agitation or vehicular breakdowns or destruction caused river Koshi. Since the recent past there are many comfortable buses connecting the rest of Nepal to Kathmandu. It is often quoted that one tends to work away from ones home. I guess thats true enough. I have jobs that keep me happy and 900km away my home. I cannot complain as I get to visit home one every two month. A visit to one home is always a rejuvenating experience. Lucky are the one who gets it going. I boarded a deluxe bus from Dharan with a strong belief that I will have a good sleep and keeps me geared up for next morning work.
