You need a logical component that includes the system that you want to report on.

You can define logical components in SMSY. You need to make sure that your system has RFC destinations defined in Solution Manager. You will need the RFC for Read Access, the RFC for Solution Manager, and the "back" RFC (on the satellite system) at minimum. You can create the RFC's in SMSY. Also, it is a good idea to confirm that the "back" RFC is working by doing an Authorization Test in SM59 of the satellite system. You need to make sure that your user ID in the satellite system has the SAP_SDCCN_ALL role. This doesn't seem to be part of the standard Basis role. In transaction SMSY menu option Environment -> Solution Manager Operations -> Administration SDCCN use the "Add" button to add your system. After you add the system, select it and "Activate". After you activate, select it and "Check system". These actions should add some tasks to SDCCN in the satellite system. If they aren't there for some reason, you can schedule a "Refresh Sessions" task manually in SDCCN of the satellite. Is transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER, create a solution that includes your logical component in its solution landscape. Under Operations Setup / Solution Landscape / Solution Settings, use the Setup EWA button to make sure that EWAlert is active for your system. In Operations / Solution Monitoring / EarlyWatch Alert, if you don't see EarlyWatch sessions already scheduled, you can use the Create Service button to schedule some. 1. Setup of the Server, database and system in transaction SMSY. 2. Generating the RFC's for the System and ensuring that the trusted RFC works. 3. Adding the system to a logical component and assigning the logical component to a Solution Landscape created in DSWP. 3. Setting up of EWA from the Solution Settings from the operations setup in DSWP. 4. Configuring the SDCC / SDCCN on the satellite system and adding the Solution Manager RFC to the SDCC settings. 5. Refreshing of sessions via the SDCCN transaction on the Satellite system. This can be automated via the Auto session Manager Report. 6. Processing of the session and sending the collected data to Solution manager. 7. Processing the collected data in the Solution Manager System and generating the EWA Report.
