The Albany County Sheriffs Office is investigating a body that was found in the Hudson River located in the Village of Green Island by the Green Island Power Authority. The Sheriffs Criminal Investigation Unit was dispatched to the location to assist Green Island Police Department and lead the investigation into the discovery of the body. The body was discovered during a clean up by C.D. Perry Construction Company in the river. The body was recovered from the Hudson River by Sheriffs Investigators and later identified by members of the Waterford Police Department, as a missing female out of their jurisdiction. The female has been missing since February of this year. The female was identified by Waterford Police Department by her tattoo markings, as Anna Kroup, age 24 from the Town of Waterford. The body was transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital by Albany County Coroner Timothy Cavanaugh pending an autopsy scheduled for tomorrow morning a 9:00 am.

The Investigation is continuing.
