It is a review of the book chapter by chapter and discusses several different aspects of the community examined. Also included is a reflection on my findings and what I learned from reading the book. Background of Artifact
The assignment was required to open our eyes to the injustice that happens across the country in the public school systems. The author visited several locations where the communities were impoverished and the school system was weak. After exploring both of the communities and school systems, the author uncovered injustices at each. This assignment made me realize how important it is to be an advocate for education, and even more to my students.

Reflection on Learning Demonstrated in this Work Sample


From completing this assignment, I have learned how important it is to advocate for my students! I realize that one teacher can make a difference. This artifact will affect my classroom by motivation me to stand up for my students in a way I never have before. I want to be a part of their community and let people know that I am here for my students. I have benefited from this artifact by having my eyes opened to a world that I never expected to see. I will fight for justice for my students. I will use what I have learned from this artifact to motivate myself to become a member of the community in which my school resides.
