Merger Between Dutch margarine company, Margarine Unie, and the British soap-maker. 41,000 Employees Headed by Harish Manwani, the non -executive chairman of the board. The company was renamed in late June 2007 as "Hindustan Unilever Limited". Known for its strong distribution network in India.
