Office of Student Affairs Graduate Assistantship, the Center for Creative Professions 10-20 hours a week flexible, 10 month

position. Reports to the Director of the Center for Creative Professions THIS IS AN UNPAID POSITION Job Summary The Graduate Intern in the Center for Creative Professions (CCP) will provide career counseling to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in BFA and MFA programs at Otis College of Art and Design. After being provided adequate training, the Graduate Intern will advise students using a variety of assessment measures, help maintain the online job board, and assist with the internship program. The graduate intern will meet weekly with the Director or Assistant Director who will provide ongoing training and mentorship. Career Counseling Provide career counseling, critique resumes, cover letters and portfolios/reels, conduct mock interviews, stay abreast of current career trends and job search techniques, and teach networking skills using traditional methods as well as social media. Administer and interpret career assessments such as the Myers Briggs and Strengthsquest. Conduct career related workshops. Accompany CCP Staff on site visits to cultivate employer relationships for student internships and full-time employment. Assist with the management of the Otis online job board Programming Assist CCP Staff in the planning and execution of special events and programs such as: Internship Fair, Junior Workshop, and Exhibition Preview. Conduct in-class presentations across all academic majors and class levels. Create and lead presentations about CCP services at campus wide events: such as Open House, New Student Orientation, and Admitted Student Reception.

Requirements Must be enrolled in a Student Affairs, Counseling, or Higher Education program. Have an interest in career development A desire to work with students in an art and design setting Excellent organizational skill, ability to complete projects in a timely manner without constant supervision Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment An understanding of and application of career development theory Ability to communicate in person as well as in writing with diplomacy and professionalism.
