Chuck Morgan and Officer Eddie Ashworth from the Kannapolis Police Departments Traffic Division teamed up with Officer Tim Lafferty and Officer Jennifer Bounelis of the Departments Community Service Division to help teach the community how important wearing seat belts are. Using a device from the Governors Highway Safety Program the Seat Belt Convincer simulates a low speed collision. Participants get to feel the impact at a low speed while wearing a seat belt and are quickly convinced that seat belts truly do save lives.

The Kannapolis Police Department works to educate the community on the importance of seat belts and many other issues.
