e : Supersedes : All existing procedures 3.0.1 DETAILED SUB PROCESS 1. Ensure that necessary tools & tackles required, check list are available before starting the job. 2. Consult and inform Production department about the maintenance and if shut down is required take clearance from production and electrical substation. 3. All safety practices to be strictly followed. Power should be disconnected by truck out of breaker. 4. Checking should be done as per the checklists. All the points to be complied. 5. Thorough cleaning of the equipments is to be done. 6. All connection points to be checked for tightness. 7. Insulation of the transformer to be tested with Megger. 8. Test oil for DIELECTRIC STRENGTH & BREAK DOWN VOLTAGE (The oil should withstand 40 kv BDV for 1 minute with a gap of 2.5 mm between the electrodes in the oil testing kit). 9. Check the colour of silica gel in the breather. It should be bluish in colour otherwise change the silica gel or regenerate the same. Check the Heat exchanger equipment/s Cooling fans/ Pumps for smooth operation. 11. Check and arrest oil leakage if any. 12. Check all protective devices by simulating from field protective device. 13. Check and ensure the followings for the for tap changer. i) Dielectric strength of oil. ii) Cleanliness of the crucible. iii) Fixed and Moving contacts for any wear and tare. iv) Shaft alignment. v) Tripping of motor below first and after last tap. vi) Fastener, bolt nuts, clamps tightness. 14. After completion of job give clearance to Electrical Substation for energizing the transformer
