TAB NAME: Event Format

Round-1: Prelims (TDP Submission) In this round, teams will need to submit a Team Description Paper (TDP).You will have to provide your complete team details and answer a subjective questionnaire related to your design of the glider in the TDP. Note: Submission will be in a prescribed format, which will be released soon and will be accessible on this page. Round-2: Final Round Shortlisted teams from the first round will be invited to IIT Madras during Shaastra 2013 to be held between January 5th to 8th. Final round will comprise of presentation of a competition between the selected teams on the game arena. The matches will be knockout and the top three teams will be awarded top prizes. Note: The detailed format for the second round will be released soon. Prize Money Will be announced shortly, stay tuned to this page for further information.

TAB NAME: Resources

1. Details of shops from where materials required for building the glider can be bought. 2. A pdf file on the basics of water rocketry, gliders and instructions on how to build a simple water rocket. 3. A pdf on how to get started with MATLAB and Simulink. One or MATLAB Script Files and A simple Simulink Model of a body being acted upon by a force etc. 4. Links to additional references on Water rockets, MATLAB and SIMULINK.

Q. What will be the size of the team? A. The maximum size of the team is restricted to 4 members. Q. Do all members need to be from the same college? A. No, team members can be from different colleges. Q. Can I use other programming languages like C or JAVA instead of MATLAB for the calculations?

A: Yes, you may use C or JAVA. But we recommend that if you have not used MATLAB/Simulink till now then this might be a good time to learn them. Getting Started Guides for MATLAB/Simulink will be made available to you. Q : Can I use ready to use calculators available on the web to do calculations? A: No, all calculations will have to be done on your own and this will have to be presented to us for evaluation.
