HERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER WHEN PRAYING:

1. PRAY IN THE NAME OF JESUS

God is giving much importance to where we channel our prayers. And the name of Jesus is the name given by God where we could air our prayers to Him. In John 16:23-24 Jesus said: In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

2. PRAY WITH THE RIGHT MOTIVE

Once our motive is found ungodly, God will never hear from heaven. James 4:3 says, When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures

3. PRAY ACCORDING TO THE WILL OF GOD

There is an assurance that once we ask according to the will of the Lord, our prayers will be heard by God. 1 John 5:14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

4. PRAY WITH OUR SINS REPENTED

Sins serve as a barrier for our prayers to be heard. Psalm 66:18 said, If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;

5. PRAY WITH A FORGIVING HEART

God requires us to forgive others before He can forgive us. Mark 11:25 says, And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."

6. PRAY WITH FAITH

Prayer made with faith guarantees that whatever we ask in prayer will be ours. Mark 11:24 says, Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

7. PRAY WITH GOOD HARMONY IN THE FAMILY

In prayers, good order or harmony in the family is neglected most of the time. Many are not aware that relationship between spouses and children is a very important requirement so that prayers are heard by the Lord. In 1 Peter 3:7 the bible says, Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.
