Information Asset Register

WHAT IT IS?
This template will help the Agency to maintain information asset register. This template contains space for users to list the information assets that have to be identified, and classified.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Information Asset register is a tool to control the Agency information assets. This document records the details of all information assets held by the agency for tracking purposes. This template would help Agencies to prepare their own register for recording the information assets, its classification and owner, etc.

HOW TO USE IT?

This document must be labeled as RESTRICTED since as per Documentation *DC+ of GIAM all ICT documentation should be given highest confidentiality rating (C3). The objective of this template is to identify, list and track information assets. Follow the steps that are mentioned below: 1. Begin with by identifying information assets used in the State Agency. 2. For each information asset, collect details such as asset category, classification, group/department, owner, owner contact details, asset support contact details. 3. Maintain the register and update as necessary
