Answer the designated Critical Reading questions at the conclusion of the poems on the back of this paper. Once you finish, show these answers to me. (For this part of the project, you may bring your mp3 players or smart phones. If your player is also your phone, please do not use calling or texting features during class.) As a team, create a soundtrack for these Anglo-Saxon pieces by pulling out excerpts from the poem that connect to modern songs. Write the excerpts and the lyrics in the appropriate boxes, and analyze and explain the similarities in motif, theme, character or symbol between the two. Brainstorm ideas about what the cover art for the soundtrack would be. You will present the literary analysis, soundtrack and cover art to the class with your team on Tuesday, September 3, 2013.
