To Whom It May Concern: It is my pleasure to submit this letter of reference on behalf of Stephanie MacLellan, a student intern from the University of New Brunswick that I had the pleasure of working with at Leo Hayes High School in 2012/2013. It is unusual for me to award such a high level of assessment to any student under my supervision. However, Stephanie is deserving of this. Stephanie demonstrated an excellent suitability to the teaching profession. She developed an exceptional rapport with my students immediately which is vital to me as a classroom teacher when entrusting my students to a young inexperienced teacher that I do not yet know. She was gracious and kind and displayed an excellent ability to communicate. Difficult students were not a problem as she was able to proficiently handle conflict when required in a firm, but respectful and thoughtful manner. She showed enthusiasm for teaching as well as a genuine and warm interest in her students. Stephanie also displayed initiative and creativity with the curriculum and consistently provided a variety of teaching methods to present her lesson plans which addressed the various abilities in the classroom. She demonstrated an excellent work ethic, was wellorganized, and a wonderful role model. She was observant, quick to learn, resourceful, self-reflective, and self-directed. She was also quick to seek assistance when issues arose that she did not have experience in handling. She displayed amazing interpersonal skills and was quickly considered a colleague by myself and other members of our grade 10 teaching team. I give Stephanie my highest recommendation. She is a remarkable educator with great potential and would be a huge asset to any school that is lucky enough have her as part of their teaching staff. Sincerely, Shelley Hanson English Language Arts Leo Hayes High School
