StudentPortal Guide

Student Portal is your one-stop for grades and attendance. Your Student Portal login credentials are the same as your Student Gmail credentials. To login to your Student Portal account follow these steps: 1. Go to cps.edu 2. Find the Studentstab on the center lefthand side of the page Click on Students 3. Three lists will appear in the middle of the page. Find the list entitled I wantto... and click on Checkmy grades 4. A new page will open. Under the black heading Logon to StudentPortal click on loggingon to our StudentPortal 5. A new page will open. Enter your username and password in the fields and then click SignIn Once youve logged in, youll see the following items on the lefthand side of the page:

Youll find the tools in Student Portal useful as you manage your progress in each class. You have viewable access to every piece of data that a teachers records in your behalf. This allows you to stay current with your grades, missing work, and attendance.

Of the five things you can access in Student Portal the most beneficial may be Triggers . This feature allows you to set up automatic text messages and/or email alerts so youll be notified as soon as a grade is changed or when attendance is submitted for you. Take some time to set your triggers so you start the academic year in a position to know your grades and attendance at any moment.

image above you see the TriggerOptionsavailable to you. The first two triggers alert you to grade changes. The third trigger alerts you to the attendance your teachers are submitting for you. If your goal is and A average, set the first two triggers at 90 if your goal is a B average, set the first two triggers at 80 If your goal is a C average, set the first two triggers at 70 If you want to receive attendance updates (tardies), check the box next to Watch Attendance You can set your notification preferences to text messages and/or email messages. Remember to update the mobile number on your Student Portal if you change the number on your mobile device.
