Safe Work Procedure for Hot Works 1) Preparation for Hot-work The WSH Officer/ Supervisor shall check

ck that the hot-work equipment used is adequate and has been properly maintained. The working groups and Site Supervisor shall ensure that the hotwork equipment used shall be maintained in safe, working condition.

2) Operation The Site Supervisor/ Working groups shall ensure that the criteria set in Hot-works Checklist is in satisfactory condition at all times.

3) Monitoring The Supervisors shall inspect the hot-work area at least once a day to ensure that the work is carried out in a safe manner with the aid of the Hot-works Checklist. A worker who has been trained in fire fighting shall be assigned by the Site Supervisor/ Working groups to be a fire-watchman to keep watch over the hot-work area while the work is in operation. The Site Supervisor/ Working groups shall ensure that all the supply valves of the gas cylinders must be securely closed and that all gas torches, manifolds and hoses are placed at a well-ventilated area during and after use. All persons shall report to the WSH Officer/ Supervisors immediately of any incompatible works nearby or that will cause the hot-work to be less safe. The WSH Officer/ Supervisors shall terminate the incompatible work immediately and shall ensure that no works shall continue until appropriate actions have been taken to ensure safety of both works.
