Dear Parent(s)/Guardian, Welcome to the start of a new school year! I am Ms. Kuang and I will be teaching your child _________________ 8th grade Math this school year. To ensure the best learning experience for your child, please ensure that your child has the following everyday: -1 pack of college ruled Looseleaf -1 pack of Post-its (sticky notes) -1 plastic folder (waterproof) -1 pack of graphing paper -1 Stapler -1 big eraser -1 Scientific Calculator (texas instrument ~$10) ***Access to internet*** -1 pack of mechanical pencils OR 1 pack of pencils and a sharpener -3 Marble Notebooks (181: black marble, 182 red marble, 183 blue marble) The grading policy is as follows: 25% Participation/Class notebook 25% Homework notebook 20% Major Worksheets 30% Exams

Parents and students, please familiarize yourself with the website www.AforAlgebra.weebly.com .This website will be updated daily for announcements, tutoring times/days, parent information, and most importantly HOMEWORK assignments and online tutorials for extra help/absentees. The rules and routines of my classroom are as follows: Attendance: Students who are absent will be held responsible for completing their homework assignments. These students will not be penalized for missing classwork notes from that day. Students who are absent/late need to ask the teacher for missing handouts and find out about announcements by referring to the Weebly website or asking a classmate. Homework Policy: There is NO excuse for missing homework. Homework notebook is due Friday of every week in the homework bin. Late credit will only be given if homework notebook is turned in no later than the Monday after. If you are absent on Friday, your homework notebook will not be penalized as late if handed in the following Monday. Behavior: Students are expected to enter the classroom with a positive attitude and ready to learn. Intelligent language and behavior is expected and encouraged from our scholars. Students are expected to behave in a respectful manner towards people and property. There is to be no consuming or throwing of any kind. Cheating/Plagarism: Students will receive a zero if work is copied or involved in cheating. If you allow someone to cheat/copy your work, you will also receive a zero. Grading: Grades will be posted up by the end of every Sunday evening. Extra credit packets will be handed out as a class.
