How does it work? What are the parts that go to make up a whole object? Or if we were to deconstruct this object, what are the parts? The whole must be a physical, tangible object not an abstract idea. 1. On the line to the left of the Map, put the name of the whole object 2. On the lines to the right, list the parts that go to make up the whole object 3. It could be that one of the parts breaks down into further parts this can also be shown (see the top of the Map) 4. The Brace Map can have a frame of reference but does not have to.

In the example above, the image in the picture has been broken down into each separate part. Notice how the flower itself has been further broken down into the parts that make up the flower itself. Your turn! Work together and develop a Brace Map of a topic of your own choosing. You will be using this to teach the others in the larger group that you will be returning to. Good luck!!
