Fire Ventilators
Roof fire vents for smoke and heat removal are units that when correctly designed in terms of their number,
size and arrangement protect the rooms in case of fire from smoke and high temperature. The same they control and
restrict smoke movement between fire area and adjacent location, thus providing conditions for evacuation of people
and action of fire fighting teams.
Additional function of the units is daylighting and venting of rooms.
Fire ventilation is ensured by suitable drive and control system that operates to open and close movable segments
of fire vents.
Selection of drive is determined mainly by requirements of regulations, nature of the building and financial outlays
allocated by users.
Operation of any smoke removal system must be closely coordinated with other fire equipment installed in the
area, like fire detection system, sprinkle system, automatic door control system.

One of major design requirements for large area buildings, like manufacturing halls, warehouses, supermarkets, etc. is to
ensure adequate daylighting and ventilation. It applies both to new projects and upgrades of existing buildings. Solution must address financial aspects connected with the project investment and later operation of the building. Good
solution for the above problems is to use continuous skylights, instead of spot skylights.
Advantages of continuous skylights:
They transfer daylight inside the building 3 times as effectively as side windows.
Optimal daylighting may be ensured using less number (smaller area) of openings, than in case of side windows.
They protect well the building interior from heat losses.
They efficiently protect interior from too intense sunlight.
They provide simple solution for venting functions.
Built-in fire vents allow removing hot air and smoke in case of fire.
Materials used to make continuous skylights guarantee long, failure-free operation.
We offer bow and triangle section continuous skylights with any length and width of up to 6 meters (consulwhen bigger
width is required). The skylights are filled with chamber polycarbonate panels with the thickness of 10, 16 or 25 mm.

About US
AWAK Company has been operating in the market since 1999. For that time we have specialized in manufacturing
of the fire ventilators and the dome skylights. In June 2005 AWAK made a capital agreement with ICOPAL S.A. for business
partnership. Since that time, AWAK Sp. z o.o. has been operating in the international corporation ICOPAL Group. Superior
aim of our partnership is to provide wide offer of products for all business partners in the area of roof fire safety and to
constantly improve our customer service.
AWAK Sp. z o.o., a leader in fire venting systems, has moved its works to Buk town, located near the junction of
the A2 motorway, 30 km to the west of Poznan.
New premises of our company include a complex of storage and manufacturing buildings with an adjoining office
building. Location of manufacturing in new facilities in Buk near Poznan is closely related to the companys development
plans. Capacity of present manufacture buildings allowed us to make additional investments in machines with a purpose
to extent our range of production.
Two modern reloading docks endure fast and convenient loading. Current shipments and deliveries pass through
the daily storage main room, where the orders are being completed.
Made modernization of machines and means of production and relocation to new facilities resulted in the
following advantages:
Increase of production capabilities.
Advanced stock of machines - equipment for metal processing and thermal processing of plastics that allows better
accommodation of manufacturing process to the Customers needs. Ability of in-house processing for metals and
aluminum profiles that means shorter time of order completion.
Improved quality control.
Shorter delivery times.
Wider product range / portfolio.
Our production department equipment corresponds to the highest European technological standards.
Experienced and qualified manufacturing staff guarantees full utilization of the machine process capabilities.
Development of our company was possible due to investment policy of ICOPAL Group, joined by AWAK in the
second half of 2005. It has opened new markets for our products all over the European Union as well as in the East
Europe.
AWAK has become an important employer in the local market. We believe that there is possibility to even double
our employment in the nearest time. Our company makes investments both in stock of machines and in tools needed
by our sales department. AWAK ICOPAL Group is a company that may be trusted in any problem connected with
daylighting, venting and smoke removal from buildings.
AWAK products installed in your roof guarantee safety and comfort for the building users.
