Wind bracing system 25

BMF 25x2.0 bracing strap is used to control wind forces on the
roof and wall structures of smaller buildings (maximum width of
10 m).
BMF has now developed its range of fixing ancillaries to provide
a complete system which is both positive and user friendly.
The BMF wind bracing system provides:

3. Flexibility. The system covers an angle interval from 30 to 60
degrees between straps and rafters
4. Quick and safe assembly. The system is also suitable for restoration projects.
5. The ability to tension the straps after installation by incorporating
the tensioner B25 12 or the tensioner 25 into the system.

BMF shank nails

BMF shank nail is a special round nail with restraint fins on part of the length of the nail. The restraint fins result
in a withdrawal strength approx. 4 times greater than an equivalent round smooth nail. The most popular shank
nails have a shank diameter D=4 mm. These shank nails are used in the 5 mm holes of the brackets.
The conical (tapered) shape under the nail head causes it to tightly connect with the bracket when nailing. The
BMF shank nails standard finish is Electro-galvanized with a zink coating of approximately 15 m. Some of the
sizes can also be supplied hot dipped galvanized or in stainless steel and acid proof grade AISI 316.

BMF Screws are special screws for fastening metalwork. The screws are hardened and can be screwed into wood
with a screwdriver without pre-drilling. Use bits for Torx 20. The screw diameter just beneath the head is 5 mm
which matches the hole dimension of the metalwork. The withdrawal strength of the screws makes it possible to
accomplish the same load carrying capacity using a short screw (5.0 x 40, l = 40) as you would using a longer
shank nail (4.0 x 60, l = 60). BMF screws standard finish is Electro-galvanized with a zink coating thickness of
approx. 12 m. The screws can also be supplied in stainless steel grade AISI 304.
BMF Structural Timber Metalwork

BMF Structural Timber Metalwork is used for
connection between load bearing components in
wooden structures. They are fixed to the timber
with either BMF shank nails or BMF screws.
Steel dowels are used in a number of products.
Some products are produced with holes for bolts to
enable fixing to concrete, brickwork etc.
BMF Structural Timber Metalwork are factory
manufactured and subject to continuous quality
control checks.
Alle standard items are marked BMF.
Material quality:
Products with plate thickness of 4.0 mm er less are
produced from hot dipped galvanized steel plate
S250GD+Z275 according to EN 10147. The products
are hot dipped galvanized and coated with
275 g zinc/per m2, equalling a layer thickness per
side of approx. 20m on average. Edges and hole
sides are not galvanized.
Products with plate thickness greater than 4 mm
are produced from steel S235JR according to
EN 10025. The products are hot dipped galvanized
after manufacture with zinc thickness of approx.
60m.
Some products are also manufactured in stainless
steel and acid proof grade AISI 316.
