Y9 Volleyball Reflection Task Environments How does my contribution influence team environments?

Over the course of our Volleyball unit we have been focusing on the development of personal skill, personal contribution to a team and how that contribution can influence environments. Your Criterion D assessment task takes the form of a video diary. You need to answer the following questions and record your answers using Photo Booth on your Laptop. Once you have recorded your Diary entry you need to drop into the drop box on the server. Your teacher will help you with this link. Writing a script or taking some notes could help prompt you during your Diary entry, and make sure you complete all that is required of you. Dont forget to smile! Question: 1; In what ways can you contribute to the positive environment within a team? 2; Can players influence a team in a negative way? If so, how? 3; is there a relationship between skill performance and team environments? 4; A player on your team has just received a serve and made terrible pass that bounces out of court giving the opposition the point. What actions would you take, and why? 5; The best player on your volleyball team is continually late to trainings and practices. They are a representative player too, and seem to put in a higher level of effort for Rep games and trainings than for your team. How does this attitude influence the environment of your team? Would you say anything to this player? If so, what would you say? 6; You are the Captain of your Volleyball team. Your new coach is a strict, task master and yells at players when they make a mistake on court. She is aware that some people think this contributes to a poor team environment, but argues that this helps players to motivate themselves not to make mistakes, and in turn contributes to the team winning games, which is a positive thing for the team. She says: Everyone likes to win, and a winning team is a positive team. To win you cant make mistakes. I let players know when they have made a mistake, and make it clear not to do it again. What do you think about this coaching technique?
