Success all the way around. Not only does this phrase summarize what Phoenix Colleges outstanding coaches, faculty, and staff help our students strive for, its also an apt description of the academic and athletic achievements that took place this past year. The Center for Athletic Victory and Education (CAVE) was recognized as the Phoenix College Innovation of the Year for the resources it provides to our student-athletes academically and athletically 4 of our 8 sports were named an NJCAA All-Academic Team 12 student-athletes recognized for academic excellence by the NJCAA Over 80 student-athletes achieved a 3.0 GPA for the fall semester and 69 for the spring semester 7 of our 8 sports qualified and competed in the Region I Playoffs Softball, Mens Basketball and Volleyball earned Region I Championship Titles Mens and Womens Soccer qualified for the Region I Quarterfinals Womens Basketball and Baseball qualified for the Region I Semifinals 3 of our 8 sports qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament with Softball finishing as the national runner-up PCs Athletics Department hosted a breast cancer awareness game for every sport raising $2,700 for the Kay Yowe Foundation Phoenix College has provided outstanding teaching and learning experiences for over 93 years, resulting in our students success in the classroom, on the field, and far beyond. A rich history and a cutting-edge learning environment coexist at PC, providing students with a unique campus experience that is second to none. Intercollegiate athletics programs have long been a vital part of PCs mission. Phoenix College student athletes participate in the Student Athlete Scholastic Success Program, receiving mentorship and advisement from coaches, administration, and faculty as they strive to reach their academic goals. We take great pride in the fact that Phoenix College is a place where people of every age and background come to discover new interests, explore new careers, or begin new paths. 2013 Coaching Staff

Jerome Daniels Head Coach
Jerome Daniels leads the Bears into battle as the interim head football coach at Phoenix College for the second straight year. Daniels-who became a very familiar name to Phoenix-area football fans after being part of the Arizona Cardinals offensive line for three seasons-enters his fourth year with the program and his 5th year of coaching in the Western States Football League. After breaking into the league as an assistant coach at Mesa Community College in 2009, Daniels joined the Bears staff in 2010, working with both the Bears offensive linemen and tight ends. Daniels then focused solely on the O-line in 2011 before being named interim head coach in August of 2011. Following the hiring of Jeremy Richardson as the programs head coach in January of this year, Daniels stayed with the program, moving to the defensive side of the ball for the first time in his coaching career as the Bears Defensive Coordinator. Upon Richardsons resignation in August, Daniels once again ascended to the top spot while still maintaining his D-Coordinator status. As a player, Daniels was an NCAA 1st Team All-American offensive lineman at Northeastern University. That drew the attention of several NFL scouts, most notably those of the Miami Dolphins, who made Jerome their 4th-round pick in the 1997 NFL Draft. Daniels then moved to the Grand Canyon State, playing for the Cardinals for three seasons. Daniels will once again use his wide range of football knowledge to mold his 2013 Bears charges into a team that will try to contend for a high seed in the brand-new WSFL Playoffs this October.

Lisa Ruiz-Gonzales Head Athletic Trainer
Lisa Ruiz-Gonzales, MS, ATC, AT/L is Phoenix Colleges Head Athletic Trainer and an Assistant Athletic Director. This is her seventh year as Head Athletic Trainer for Phoenix College. She received her B.S. in Exercise Science from Arizona State University and her M.S. in Sports Health Care from Arizona School of Health Sciences. She has been a part of the Phoenix College family and athletic training staff since 1999, initially starting as an athletic training student while attending ASU and continuing through as a graduate assistant while completing her masters degree at ASHS. Lisa is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers Association, Arizona Community Colleges Athletic Trainers Association (ACCATA), and is currently licensed by the Arizona Board of Athletic Trainers. Lisa and her husband Emmett currently reside in Phoenix, Arizona.

April Perotti ATC Assistant Athletic Trainer

April Perotti, MS, ATC/L, is Phoenix Colleges Assistant Athletic Trainer. This is her third year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for Phoenix College. April has spent the previous 2 years as a graduate assistant here at PC while completing her masters degree at ASHS. She received her B.S. in Athletic Training from Northeastern University in 2005 and an M.S. in Sports Health Care from Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2007. April is originally from Massachusetts.
