High tempo contrasting music is used throughout which is used in melodrama as is exaggerates the current emotion of the characters. Foley sounds are also used to enhance the key dramatic sound. Cross-cutting is used in melodramas to allow the audience to see action taking place in more than one location by switching between separate scenes.
