    Boreas data collector unit is the central instrument oI the automatic meteorological station. Its task
    is to organize the individual devices into a uniIormed system, to control the measures, to store and
    transmit the results to the computer connected to it. At required time intervals stored in an internal
    device table the data collector unit sends commands to the sensors to start measures, send results
    and send maintenance inIormation, and receives and stores the measure- and condition inIormation
    in it's internal memory. These inIormation can be Iorwarded to the central computer by it's ask in
    the Iorm oI event records (Irom-when-how-much).
    The measured data could be accessed over local or remote connection. The data acquisition
    programs are ready to run under 32 bit Windows, Windows CE-based PDAs and diIIerent Linux
    platIorms.
    The data collector can be connected to the central computer with a special line interIace (BBU),
    with a radio connection (on 433 or 450 MHz) or by GSM/GPRS modem. Any parameter according
    to the data sampling process -like the number and type oI the sensors, the sampling period times,
    etc.- is conIigurable. The program and the data collector are protected by password against
    unauthorized access.
    The traditional meteorological sensors like temperature, humidity, pressure, wind, soil temperature,
    rain quantity, etc. are connected to a uniIorm-protocol uniIorm-connector digital RS-485 based Iield
    bus and all these devices have internal calibration data stored inside oI the device. The system is
    expandable by other 3

    party instruments like radioactive dose rate or gas concentration sensors.
    The BCULite-S6 is especially designed and optimized Ior the Boreas Ltd's new System-6 weather
    station series.
