Carolino 2012 59026 Professor Benjamin Mangubat PI 100 The Life and Works of Jose Rizal An argumentative essay on Jose Rizals The Monkey and Turtle The story of the monkey and the turtle illustrated that a slow, yet intellectual and cunning turtle, can overthrow and defeat a stronger foe. However, some people believe that someone who is much more developed may prosper over someone who is smart and intelligent for they possess qualities and characteristics more improved and advanced than the latter. Opponents of this claim believe that the better and more developed organisms may overcome even those who are cunning for they may defeat them easily and quickly as soon as they get their hands on them. But the story declares that for someone who is smarter, they are able to protect and defend themselves for they know better and they are much more aware. One of the famous quotes in the Philippines, Daig ng maagap ang masipag, is another example, other than Rizals story, which explains that someone who is more aware may overthrow and be better than the stronger one. An intelligent person is aware that if he finishes a task earlier, he may be able to do things other than the tasks. But the masipag person, who isnt aware of the benefits of finishing a task earlier, will do it later and may pass it later than the scheduled date of submission. Therefore, those who are more intellectual, wiser, and smarter may overcome and defeat those who are stronger than them. It should also be noted that one shouldn't be daunted by the apparent strength of a stronger foe, and instead, use one's intellect.
