8th Grade Math

Monday Grade Reports


Each Monday I will send home a progress report with your child. Every report will include up-to -date grades. Make sure to ask your child to see this report EACH Monday! There is a space for you to sign at the bottom. Every signed and returned progress report is worth 5 bonus points that will be added to their 9-week final grade.

How is Work Graded?

Tests and Quizzes - Graded for correct or incorrect answers. These will be in the form of multiple choice, short answer, fill in the blank, and extended response.

Projects - There will be 4 large projects this year. One for each 9-week grading period.

Class Participation/Homework - Some class assignments are graded for completion and others for accuracy. Homework is graded for accuracy.

Math Lab Assignments - IXL assignments are graded based on mastery. All IXL assignments will be given at the beginning of the 9-week grading period and due by the last day of the grading period. There will some class time for IXL but students are also encouraged to work on it at home.

How are Grades Calculated?


Assignments are graded differently based on what type they are. The categorizes and weights are listed below.

60% Tests, Quizzes, and Projects 20% Class Participation/Homework 20% Math Lab Assignments

On-line ClassroomAll assignments, notes, and video instructions will be added to my online classroom. You can get there by typing in the address on the front of Syllabus or from the Clark-Moores Homepage under the tab Teacher Websites. TutoringStarting the second 9-weeks, I will be staying after school two days a week to help students as needed.
