Title of Activity: Math 3 Under the Sea: Addition and Subtraction

They will give themselves and their fish a name to enter the website. Students will practice addition or subtraction, and complete all the activitys under subtraction and addition. If the student complete both lessons they may either: continue practcing addition and subtration (questions change every time) or explore the website and review previous lessons or advance to new lessons. General Learner Outcome: Develop number sense. Specific Learner Outcomes: Demonstrate an understanding of addition and subtraction of numbers with answers to 1000 (limited to 1-, 2- and 3-digit numerals), concretely, pictorially and symbolically, by: o using personal strategies for adding and subtracting with and without the support of manipulatives o creating and solving problems in context that involve addition and subtraction of numbers. ICT Outcomes: C.6.1.3 use technology to support and present conclusions C. 6.4.1 investigate and solve problems of prediction, calculation and inference C.6.4.4 generate new understandings of problematic situations by using some form of technology to facilitate the process P.5.1.2 access hyper linked sites on an intranet or the Internet Rationale for Computer Integration: Computers have been integrated into this assignment to engage student, review and support what we have already started learning in class. Also to allow students to work at their own pace and recive

instant feedback (wether they are correct or not). Target all types of learners especially visual/audio learners. Allows me to see where students are struggling and what I need to adapt in my lessons. Search stratigies employed: Using Google I searched for online games math. I tried to use as little words as possible but realized I had to be a little more specific. I tried again with online games math (k-6) The websites I got did not match what I was looking for, I got a wide range of general websites. I tried again and this time I used a larger number of keywords. I searched for online math games grade 3 the very first website to come up was alberta education and I knew I had typed in the right words.
