Azzour MCW Hydraulic Pressure Estimation: Total Head = Discharge Head Suction Head MCW P Discharge at floor = Total Head Suction Head Azzour MCW pump head is 29m = 2.9bar (assume sea water = 1) Pump suction to discharge is about 3m = 0.3bar. Total forebay level -5.8m. Net effect suction head = pump suction eye to pump discharge (or forebay level due to P disch location). MCW P disch =2.9 0.5 (assume suction head 5m)= 2.4 bar. Condenser Inlet = MCW pump discharge friction loss (assume 0.1 bar): 2.4 0.1 = 2.3 Condenser head loss (in/out flange) = 0.75bar (design guarantee=max loss, actual may be lower). Take 0.8 bar (GB3 actual 0.6bar, design 0.55 bar) Condenser outlet = 2.3 0.8 = 1.5bar Note: 1. Azzour Condenser discharge head maximum is 25m = 2.5bar. Condenser design pressure is 5bar. 2. Azzour Cooling tower height is 15m, min P of 1.5 bar required for cooling water flows out from CT nozzle. CT P should be between 1.3 1.7 bar. 3. Azzour MCW P Max 1 = 2.6bar (MCW Disch valve Release open), Max 2 = 3.2bar (MCW Pump TRIP). 4. CT P Max 1 > 1.7 bar, Max 2 > 1.8 bar, Max 3 > 2.3bar; 5. CT P Min 1 < 1.3 bar, Min 2 < 1.0 bar, Min 3 < 0.8 bar 6. GB3 Condenser suction/disch P = 2.3/1.7 bar. GB3 Protection: MCW P > 2.6bar AND P Elevation >0.8bar.
