The election process is yet another disclosure of human selfishness born from hi s amassive nature.

What makes the candidates to boast about insignificant achiev ements and subject their henchmen in indecorous activities which they, in the ga rb of common man, would oterwise call to be insane? They simply torture their do rmant conscience by lying about distant promises. The work of the candidate shou ld be his clarion appeal. All verbal propaganda would only suffice to be a mere formality of the most undisturbing kind. Even the simple people understand that over-emphasis of an ideology (that too at the brink of the election days) has se eds of ingrained-party-interests which are likely to be alien to the interests o f the electorate. Politics can never be a field for personal reward. It dwells in the service of t he society. Even if voted out of power, the candidate is satisfied with the dict ates of the present ruling party if it is in coherence with riddance of citizen' s problems. The term in office only increases his sovereinity, but his solemnity remains unaffected. If such sort of politics be practised, the outcome would be easily realized in a quick manner reflected in the satisfaction of the people. That would be the end to which democracy is truly aimed at.
