    Spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade: There are two current appeals by Dr Clinton Fernandes

    against decisions made by the National Archives of Australia (NAA) to exempt material under the Archives Act 1983 (the Archives Act) which are before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT). The hearing dates for these appeals are 28, 29 and 30 January 2014. Questions about the legal proceedings before the AAT under the Archives Act should be directed to the National Archives of Australia. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has provided advice to the National Archives of Australia regarding the on-going sensitivity of the material. It would not be appropriate to comment further while this matter is before the AAT.
