Clouds Victoria

Once I laid down in the snow with my dad as we watched the clouds stay still as the earth moved. It was the coolest thing ever because it gave me a sense of discovery. I think this is so because the earth is spinning while the atmosphere around us stays still.

As it turns out, both the earth and the clouds are moving. The earth is spinning somewhere between 700-900 miles per hour, while the clouds are moving at roughly 100 miles per hour. So, I learned that both the earth and the clouds are moving. It appears that the clouds are moving because they are spinning 100 miles faster than the earth. http://www.weatherwizkids.com/weather-clouds.htm and http://geography.about.com/library/faq/blqzearthspin.htm
