My schools context: How does the subject curriculum in your school articulate with the subject curriculum before

e and after MYP? Does the curriculum articulate with the elementary and high school?

I am just starting (from April 2013, we are on the Japanese school calendar system) my second year here at Okinawa International School teaching PYP music. Checking in with our PYP Coordinator, I believe weve been a PYP school for about 2.5-3 years. From April 2012 we opened up a middle school (starting with grade 7, now this year, 2013, we have grade 8) and started the application process for MYP in earnest from mid-year 2012. I am also teaching music at our fledgling middle school, and so have been attending curriculum and syllabus planning meetings since last year. Based on what I have observed in these meetings, I am answering this question with a simple: subject curriculum no NOT currently (as of May 2013) articulate with anything (neither elementary, nor high school), either before, or after, MYP. What are the 'external' educational requirements that your subject courses must meet - for example, are there a set of standards that must be met? Are there any 'internal' requirements that your school's subject curriculum must satisfy? Is yours an 'inclusive' programme?
