The Australian Curriculum 5.1 - History Historical Knowledge and Understanding The Ancient World Overview content includes the evidence for the emergence and establishment of ancient societies (including art, iconography, writing tools and pottery) key features of ancient societies (farming, trade, social classes, religion, rule of law) Investigating the ancient past The range of sources that can be used in an historical investigation, including archaeological and written sources (ACDSEH029) Historical Skills Chronology, terms and concepts Use historical terms and concepts (ACHHS206) Historical questions and research Identify and locate relevant sources, using ICT and other methods (ACHHS208) Explanation and communication Develop texts, particularly descriptions and explanations that use evidence from a range of sources that are acknowledged (ACHHS213) Use a range of communication forms (oral, graphic, written) and digital technologies (ACHHS214)

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) capability Students develop ICT capability as they learn to use ICT effectively and appropriately to access, create and communicate information and ideas, solve problems and work collaboratively in all learning areas at school, and in their lives beyond school. ICT capability involves students in learning to make the most of the technologies available to them, adapting to new ways of doing things as technologies evolve and limiting the risks to themselves and others in a digital environment. Students develop ICT capability when they locate, process, analyse and communicate historical information. They use their ICT capability to access a range of digital sources of information; critically analyse evidence and historical trends; communicate, present and represent their learning; and collaborate, discuss and debate to co-construct their knowledge. Phase 1: Engage, review prior knowledge Review the ideas the class brainstormed in the previous lesson Students will view the prototype of the virtual museum Demonstrate how to navigate the PowerPoint Phase 2: Develop skills & knowledge Explain objective Students will revise their PowerPoint skills Groups will create one PowerPoint slide on a historical topic of their choice The slide must include a title, text box & image Present an example of a slide which includes the components requested
