Islamic: Islam emphasizes reading and gaining knowledge. Arabic language is the language of the Quran. Hadith: The best amongst you is the one who learns the Quran and teachers it (Bukhari)

Well-being: their emotional well-being is nurtured (determine their own actions + choices)

Goal/Objectives: Encourage children to access books to read alone, together or with teachers. Encourage children to value books and written language as a valuable source of knowledge. As age/stage appropriate introduce children to recoginise English and Arabic letters, sight words and some phonics.

Exploration: they learn strategies for active exploration, thinking, and reasoning

Contribution: affirmed as individuals, develop ways to enjoy solitary play when they choose (self-regulate) Encouraged to learn with and alongside others

Communication: They experience the stories and symbols of their own and other cultures
