The teacher will briefly introduce how to use order decimals from least to greatest to the students before doing the activity. Students will watch a video on how to order decimals. The teacher will briefly introduce how to add and subtract decimals. Students will watch a video on how to add and subtract decimals. Students will use Zunal.com (http://zunal.com/webquest.php?w=213593) to complete a webquest that contains five decimal activities on adding, subtracting and ordering decimals. The students will show all their work for each activity on notebook paper. Students will work independently to complete the webquest. The teacher will observe the students as they work to observe students understanding.
Engage The teacher will review comparing decimals with students by giving students numbers and having them compare the numbers using <, >, and = symbols by standing in front of the classroom. Elicit - The teacher will state what numbers need to be compared and students will determine if the first decimal is equal to, greater than, or less than the second decimal. Explore Students will be given a place value chart. Students will work with a partner to order decimals from least to greatest. Students will use cubes to represent the numbers in each place value and write the expanded form of the decimals based on their representations. Explain The teacher will discuss how ordering decimals from least to greatest will help the students when adding and subtracting decimals. Elaborate & Extend The teacher will give students five sets of decimals and have the students use their place value charts to help them order the decimals from least to greatest. The students will then add and subtract each set of decimals.

Evaluate - Students will complete a webquest containing five decimal activities. Students will show how to add, subtract and order the decimals based on the activity on their notebook paper.
