WHAT IS GONORRHEA
caused by bacterium- Neiseeria Gonorrhoeae
grows easily in warm, moist areas
cervix
uterus
fallopian tubes
urethra
all sexually active people should be tested

SYMPTOMS
some have no symptoms
MEN: burning while urinating, white/yellow/green discharge,
painful or swollen testicles
WOMEN: 50% have no symptoms, mistaken for a bladder or
vaginal infection, burning while urinating, bleeding between
periods
people who have just been diagnosed may want to check for
other sexually transmitted diseases
symptoms usually appears 2-5 days after infection
HOW IT IS TRANSMITTED
sexual intercourse with someone who has the disease
anal, vaginal, or oral
via fluids even if the man does not ejaculate
an untreated mother to her baby during childbirth
toilet seats

Drug-resistant gonorrhea is increasing. f symptoms continue
for a few days after you start the medication you should go
back to the doctor to be reevaluated.
